- Farnes Rib Diving March 2010 - Course Information
-
The Farne Islands are situated between 1-4 miles off the Northumberland Coast and half and hours boat trip from Seahouses. There are between 13 and 28 islands visible depending on the tide. The islands offer a safe haven to thousands of seabirds including Puffins, Guillemots, Terns and many more. The Islands host the largest colony of Grey Seals in the North Sea.
Whilst being a haven to a wide range of marine life the islands have been a hazard to shipping with literally hundreds of ships coming to grief on the small stretch of coast, most famously, the 'Forfarshire' and the heroic tale of Grace Darling.
The car park is Pay & Display and is your individual responsibility to pay.
